How To: Give Your Coffee Table the Consort Edge

by Colin King February 15, 2017

Ever wonder what constitutes a well-styled coffee table? Well, wonder no more. Here are five easy steps to turn your average coffee table into a Consort-approved centerpiece. Scroll down to get the details!

FLORAL ARRANGEMENT

Every coffee table needs florals or greens to bring it to life (no pun intended). So dust off your favorite vase and be bold with your arrangement- this is your chance to bring some color and texture into a room.

COFFEE TABLE BOOKS

Who doesn't want to look well-read? Don't be shy about stacking books upon books spanning a multitude of interests like art, fashion, design, history, etc. Take this opportunity to infuse personality to your living area, who knows- these books may even spark some great conversation.

ACCENT OBJECTS

Sprinkle in some unique objects to help break up the stacks of books. We suggest items that are metallic, textured, or colorful. If you're not one for tchotchkes, a simple scented candle will do the trick!

TRAYS & COASTERS

Ok, now it's time to make sure the coffee table is functional. Leave space for a tray to hold smaller objects (like car keys or change) and coasters to help maintain the surface of your coffee table. It's nice to vary the material of the tray from the coffee table. For example, if you have a wooden coffee table, try a metallic tray and vice versa if you have a metallic coffee table.

PERSONAL TOUCH

Lastly, toss a coffee mug or sunglasses into the mix for the final personal touch. This is mostly to make sure it's picture perfect for your next instagram post!
