When we are designing in New York, staying at 11 Howard keeps us in a perfect empire state of mind. We love to refer to this hotel as our east coast home-away-from-home: the eclectic Scandinavian design, the blonde wood finishes, and the trending color choices of pink and dusty blue make us feel like we couldn't have designed it better ourselves.
Located on an understated corner in Soho, 11 Howard feels tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city while remaining walking distance to some of downtown Manhattan’s best shops and restaurants. Once inside, a giant steel spiral staircase greets you with major attitude, leading the way to the lobby on the second floor. From there, the hotel’s common areas, guest rooms, and rooftop patio alike are simple and sophisticated, combining elements of modern Scandinavian minimalism with a soft color palette for an atmosphere of serene luxury.
But it’s not just 11 Howard’s design aesthetic that’s a great fit; the hotel’s social outlook also speaks to us. We love that being bi-coastal provides us a unique opportunity to give back: 11 Howard emphasizes “conscious hospitality”, with the hotel donating a portion of each room rate to the Global Poverty Project.
And of course, no hotel would feel like home without a best friend along for the ride. We are always excited to stay somewhere that welcomes dogs, and 11 Howard has been officially approved by Consort’s premier canine tastemaker, Poppy Hollywood.
But don’t just rely on Poppy’s endorsement: scroll down for a peek inside 11 Howard, our NYC home-away-from-home.
