Consort is seeking a Product Developer to join our Los Angeles-based retail team. Ideal candidate is passionate about high quality home furnishings and has experience modeling furniture and managing the fabrication of materials, including, but not limited to wood, stone, metalwork, and glass. The Consort Product Developer will bring fresh ideas and assert a strong design point of view to our fast-growing company.

Consort is an innovative home decor concept, offering a fresh take on comfortable, cool design through brick and mortar locations, which feature interior design services, a shoppable showroom, and e-commerce. The brand’s cutting edge-classic look draws consumers who enjoy a trend-driven lifestyle and specializes in fashionably edgy home goods with a heightened sense of style.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a young, fast-growing, creative startup in the home space.


  • Design furnishings under creative direction of company principles and define product vision.

  • Grow company revenues by developing new products.

  • Manage fabrication process of prototypes, ensuring quality control and creative vision.

  • Manage the product creation process from design to production and streamline the production process.

  • Communicate daily with vendors to monitor the progress of new developments and current production to ensure production is tracking on-time and meeting key milestone due dates.

  • Bring to the table and develop relationships with local fabricators as well as outsource production of fabrication to out-of-town factories.

  • Collaborate with COO and Buyer to refine shipping methods and costs.

  • Manage budget by ensuring that all products are engineered in accordance with cost targets and improve margins.

  • Manage and resolve any quality issues post-production.


  • 3-5 years of product development experience in home furnishings or related field.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.

  • Experience designing, developing and  managing fabrication of furnishings, upholstery, case goods, metalwork, glass, lighting, stone.

  • Proficient in AutoCad, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, Google Platform, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organization, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and schedule work in a deadline driven environment.

  • For consideration, applicant must have a strong visual, creative point-of-view, excellent body of related creative work to show, and beautiful social media presence.
