Consort is seeking a content editor to write and produce content and social media across our website and social platforms. This is an entry level position for the right candidate with strong writing and visual skills. Applicants should have a stylish social media presence and multi-talented skill set including, but not limited to, copywriting, styling, photography and graphic design. The Consort content editor can work well under tight deadlines, produce high quality work quickly, and thrives in a startup environment.

Consort is an innovative home decor concept, offering a fresh take on comfortable, cool design through brick and mortar locations, which feature interior design services, a shoppable showroom, and e-commerce. The brand’s cutting edge-classic look draws consumers who enjoy a trend-driven lifestyle and specializes in fashionably edgy home goods with a heightened sense of style.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a young, fast-growing, creative startup in the home space.

RESPONSIBILITES 

  • Maintain Consort blog, under direction of company’s Creative Director and Content Manager, scheduling and creating compelling content that integrates brand and retail goals.

  • Collaborate with designers and creative projects manager to produce new, exciting blog content.

  • Compile weekly analytics on web traffic and social growth.

  • Create and maintain weekly content schedule for telling Consort’s story across all social media platforms, including weekends and holidays.

  • Draft and schedule social posts ahead of time to obtain weekly approval in Social Media Meeting. In the event of last-minute opportunities, obtain manager approval prior to posting.

  • Collaborate with Shop team to promote sales and market special events via social media.

  • Maintain high quality content curation, in both imagery and copy.

  • Maintain awareness of Consort’s editorial opportunities and publish dates in order to capitalize on increased traffic across web and social.

  • Continuously self-educate on new and creative ways to grow social media following.

  • Evolve daily and weekly posting schedule as necessary to maximize follower engagement and growth based on weekly analytics.

  • Research and propose new tools and methods for growing website traffic.

  • Research new tools and methods for growing traffic

  • Contribute image and copy content on behalf of Consort to partner sites and editorial publications within specified deadlines to achieve broader brand awareness and reach.

  • Work in tandem with Consort’s public relations team to create, collect, and deliver media assets such as interview responses, images, and company information for press.

  • Plan and maintain content across website, including editorial, promo imagery, and copy on an on-going basis.

  • Receptive to constructive feedback and ability to learn from mistakes.

  • Mature and open working style that stimulates a sense of collaboration and ownership that produces results.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Attention to detail, including organization, planning, written, and visual content.

  • Expert at all major social media platforms, experience working in a CMS, Photoshop, Shopify, and photography experience a plus.
